Students at the OLLU-Houston campus have access to many of the same resources available to students on the main campus in San Antonio. Below are the services available to students:
OLLU Bookstore
OLLU-Houston students can purchase or rent textbooks online through the OLLU Bookstore . Students can search for textbooks with their student ID number or by course.

Sueltenfuss Library
The Sueltenfuss Library collection consists of print and electronic materials specifically selected to support research and learning for OLLU students, faculty and staff. This includes books, reference materials, scholarly journals, popular reading materials, eBooks, streaming videos, research guides and more.
Get It 4 Me
Students can request items the OLLU library does not have by submitting a Get It 4 Me request. The Get It 4 Me interlibrary loan program lets students request materials from another library that aren't available at OLLU.
TexShare
The TexShare program lets students borrow library materials directly from other participating libraries throughout Texas. Contact the library at library@ollusa.edu or 800-846-4085 to request you TexShare Card and they will mail the card directly to your home address. View the TexShare site for more information.
Ask a Librarian
Librarians are on hand to answer questions students may have. Contact librarians via email, chat, phone, the Ask a Librarian form, or set up a reference consultation.

Center for Career Development and Testing
The Center for Career Development and Testing offers many services that are also available to students on the OLLU-Houston campus.
FOCUS 2 - Online Career Assessment and Career Planning
FOCUS 2 - Online Career Assessment and Career Planning Program is a self-guided, interactive career planning program designed to help you explore college majors and plan your career based on your interests, values, skills, personality and professional goals. FOCUS 2 can help:
- Identify the major areas of study at Our Lady of the Lake University that best match your assessment results.
- Integrate the results from your assessments to help you make education and career decisions.
- Store your results in an online Career Portfolio that you can update as often as you like.
First-time users: to create a new user account, contact the CCDT at 210-431-3971 or at ccdt@ollusa.edu to receive an access code to create a FOCUS 2 account.
Returning users: visit the Focus 2 Portal
To review your assessment results, and for further assistance with career exploration and counseling, contact the CCDT to schedule an appointment with a Career Counselor.
Interview Preparation
The CCDT now offers a free training system that features a new and innovative way to help students prepare for a job interview more effectively. Big Interview is an online system that combines training and practice to help users improve their interview technique and build confidence. Tools included in Big Interview include:
- Challenging, virtual mock interviews for all experience levels and dozens of industries
- A database of thousands of interview questions with tips on how to answer them
- The ability to rate and share interview answers for feedback
- A comprehensive video training curriculum covering all aspects of getting a job
- A step-by-step interview Answer Builder for crafting answers to behavioral questions
Handshake
Handshake is an online resource provided by the CCDT that offers students/alumni:
- Access to internship and job postings
- Ability to schedule career advising appointments
- Registration for career events
- Access to career resources and articles
- Option to setup mobile notifications for new internships and jobs in their desired field

Students and alumni may receive assistance with their résumés and cover letters by scheduling an individual meeting with a CCDT Career Adviser through Handshake . Appointments are available for in-person meetings as well as online appointments for students/alumni not able to visit with us in the office.
Mary Francine Danis Writing Center
At the Mary Francine Danis Writing Center (MFDWC), the professional consultants assist writers at all stages in the writing process from interpreting assignments, brainstorming, and focusing, to organizing, determining tone, and creating clarity. The MFDWC offers the OLLU community a safe place for exploring ideas, developing a personal writing process, revising papers, learning about academic honesty and improving writing skills in diverse formats and genres.
Writing Consultants at the MFDWC are professional staff members who hold bachelor's and/or master's degrees and participate in professional development. Consultants help writers learn about and develop their personal writing process and discuss with writers strategies for improving their writing. The MFDWC aims to develop confident, responsible writers and to cultivate excellence in writing across all academic disciplines. The MFDWC provides professional development, tutoring and space for individuals to work and for groups of writers to collaborate.
Consultants are available in person, over the phone, or through an online chat.
